To my mom @ school,
Held my hand; the first time
into classroom with U - a long walk.
Helped me with the chalk,
Into chorus I rhyme(d).
Adamant ! was me at lunch,
U fed me at ur bench.
Messy shoe-laces I tied;
Change me ! U always tried.
Fought in the class,
Beaten to the grass;
Stretched ur hand to reach out,
U never stared or shout !
Mistakes I made all day
U didn make me pay;
"A slap on the wrist"
for me was the twist !
Grew from i to I
always U saw me eye to eye;
Inspired me to grow-
Here I take a bow !
Dedicated to all my teachers who groomed the real me !
P.S. "A slap in the wrist" means "a very small punishment for even a serious mistake done"
